Currently, one of the best places to farm runes is in Kurast Undercity. Notably, using and maximizing Tribute of Harmony guarantees you’ll receive approximately eight to nine random runes per dungeon run. What’s more, you can clear it in under three minutes. However, to achieve this guaranteed return, you do need Tribute of Harmony.
If you’ve been playing for a while, you probably already have some Tributes in your inventory, so put them to good use and turn them into runes.
Of course, other types of Tributes can also drop runes at the end of farming. But if your goal is to farm runes exclusively, Tribute of Harmony is by far the most effective.
If you don’t have any Tributes of Harmony, don’t panic; there are many ways to obtain them. You can get them by challenging World Bosses, opening Whisper Caches, and even from Glittering Prym Treasure Goblins. Basically, most content has a chance to drop them.
When running Kurast Undercity, a smart way to maximize your gains is to form a three-person team and take turns using Tribute of Harmony. This way, you can save a lot of Tributes while still earning the same number of Diablo 4 runes. This method is efficient, cooperative, and perfect for group farming.
Lair Bosses
Now, if you’ve run out of Tributes or are looking for another way to farm, here’s what you can do: kill Lair Bosses. The bonus chests they drop are guaranteed to drop at least one or two higher-rarity runes.
However, you need Lair Boss Keys to open their chests, which can be expensive and time-consuming.
Whisper Caches
Another great way to farm is to open Whisper Caches. You can open caches by completing bounties on Tree of Whispers and winning Grim Favors. Remember to check your Mercenaries tab; you may have a significant amount of unclaimed Pale Marks there. You can exchange them for these Augment Caches, which may contain multiple Runes, Scattered Prisms, and Gem Fragments.
This is an often-overlooked but very effective way to quickly accumulate Diablo 4 runes and crafting materials without extensive monster farming. Please note that you need to have Aldkin at least tier 8 to unlock the cache; otherwise, it won’t appear in the drop pool.
Convert At The Jeweler
